About the event
The WV Coalition to End Homelessness is offering two in-person Full SPDAT trainings in Beckley on February 13th and Bridgeport on March 26th. The Beckley training will be held at Raleigh County Community Action Agency and the Bridgeport training will be held at the WVCEH main office. The Service Prioritization Decision Assistance Tool (SPDAT) is an in-depth assessment for housing stability that relies on the assessor’s ability to interpret responses and corroborate those with evidence. Originally developed as an assessment tool for frontline workers at agencies that work with homeless clients to prioritize which of those clients should receive assistance first, the WV Balance of State CoC encourages use of the SPDAT in housing-based case management. As a result, this tool may only be used by those who have received proper, up-to-date training provided by OrgCode Consulting, Inc. or an OrgCode certified trainer.
If you have previously been trained in SPDAT, you do not need to be trained again. Space is limited and will be prioritized for those who have never received SPDAT training before and are working in housing-based case management programs (YHDP, CoC, ESG, SSVF). All YHDP and CoC-funded agencies are required to be utilizing the SPDAT as their primary case management tool and monitored on this requirement annually, so if your agency has not been trained or has new staff that need training, please be sure to register!
